The Amsterdam Dance Event is a music conference, festival and the global meeting point for the creative industry focused on electronic music and has taken place annually in October in Amsterdam since 1996.

The Westerunie, Westerliefde, the Westergasterras and the Transformatorhuis have been permanent fixtures of the world's leading electronic music festival since its opening in 2007. Every year, in the middle of October, DJs and fans from all over the world descend on this flagship of the Dutch Music scene. From Wednesday to Sunday, at least 5 and in recent years - since the day parties have become so popular - as many as 7 parties for 2,000 visitors take place annually in these 4 halls.
